Tour itinerary

Your snowmobile adventure starts in Reykjavik where your guide will pick you up at your accommodation and whisk you through the stunning countryside on the way to the Langjökull glacier. At the snowmobile base camp, your guide will get you registered for your snowmobile tour. You don’t need to have any previous snowmobile experience to get the thrill of glacier snowmobiling – just a valid driving license.

Your friendly guide will provide you with all the protective gear that you need for a safe and exciting snowmobile ride and you will receive a short and comprehensive instruction on how to ride a snowmobile safely. You will learn all you need to know in a few minutes.

After a short practice driving at our base area, we will head out onto the vast untouched glacial wilderness for an hour of exhilarating snowmobile adventure. Depending on the weather and snow conditions, you’ll either be driving across the ice cap at the top of the glacier or through the stunning nearby mountains. Snowmobiling across this awe-inspiring landscape is an unforgettable experience that you will treasure for the rest of your life.

You will have enough time to enjoy the view and take amazing photos without haste. Feel free to ask your guide to take photos and videos of you and your family or friends – we are happy to oblige.

After an hour of exhilarating and fun snowmobiling, you will drive back to the snowmobile base. We will then head back to Reykjavik and drop you at your selected collection point.

If you want to drive a snowmobile, you have to be at least 18 years old and hold a valid driver’s license.

Since the weather is unpredictable, always bring comfortable outdoor clothes, warm layers, with waterproof and windproof outer-layers. Jeans are not suitable clothing; a waterproof jacket and shoes and a warm sweater are highly recommended. It’s best to wear boots as it’s pretty cold on the glacier and they can get wet. You or your passenger can wear a small backpack or a camera bag while riding on a snowmobile. Please ensure all zips, straps, and flaps are secured when your snowmobile is in motion. Bring some snack or packed lunch. Bring your personal daily medications if required – please let us know of any allergies or medical conditions that you may require assistance with.

Full payment is required at time of booking to secure your place. We require 24 hrs notice of cancellation for a refund. Any cancellation made within less than 24 hours prior to departure will be fully charged.

At all times your safety is our first priority. You can expect any kind of weather in Iceland. For this reason, the tour itinerary may be subject to change the sights without notice or the tour might be canceled due to weather, or other unforeseen circumstances. If the timing changes, we will need your valid mobile phone number to contact you and inform you of the time change. Please don’t forget to fill out your phone number on the booking form. If the tour is canceled, you can choose to receive a full refund or to reschedule your tour for another day. Access to the glacier may be difficult at times, leaving little time for other sightseeing. We make every effort to avoid any such changes wherever possible.

Please note that we offer pick-up service from authorized pickup points in the Reykjavik downtown area. We can unfortunately not offer pick-up service from Airbnb or private apartments, nor Keflavik Airport for our tours.
